St. Nicholas

Through the centuries many stories and legends have been told of St. Nicholas' life and deeds. Those stories help us understand his extraordinary character and why he is so beloved and revered as protector and helper of those in need.
There is a great website that you can learn about St. Nicholas.
It is http://www.stnicholascenter.org/Brix?pageID=38

St. Nicholas came to our school on December 6th. He explained that a long time ago he helped people in need. He gave poor families gold so that the young ladies could be married one day. It is said that simple gift-giving in early Advent helps preserve a Christmas Day focus on Baby Jesus.

We put our shoes out in the hallway and hoped that St. Nicholas would put a small surprise in them. As he was leaving the classroom, he asked our class if they have been good all year. Since all the boys and girls have been great, he said his helpers would leave them a special treat.
